Think Big Family Child Care - "Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord..." Psalm 127:3

Policies

I would like to think that all children love it here, but I know that's not always the case. I have a 2 week trial period for both the parents and provider along with the child to try things out and see if we're a good match. At anytime during these two weeks either of us feel it won't work out, we have no obligations to keep our contract. A copy of my handbook will be available at the time of interview to read over. It will not be available to take home. Such policies as Guidance and Discipline, Behavior Management Planning, Health & Safety, Medical records, Illness Policy & Procedure, Medication Administration, Emergency Care Procedures, Dental Health Emergency, Toilet Learning, Child Abuse & Neglect, Smoking, Fire Drills & Tornado Drills, Tolerance & Respect, House Rules, Communication and more are covered in this handbook.
Some things you might like to know before hand when making your decision.

Provider Vacation Time:
I will notify the parents at least 4 weeks in advance of any vacation time my family and I may be taking. As a childcare provider, I do not get paid vacation. I do not expect you to have to pay me and pay someone else if need be while I am gone. I may be taking up to 2 weeks vacation per year. This may or may not be taken all at once.

Parent Vacation Time:
When a family takes a vacation, 50% of their weekly tuition is due. A minimum of 2 weeks notice must be given. A vacation is longer than 3 days. You are responsible for tuition whether your child is here or not if less than 3 days.

School Teacher's Kids
Think Big works when teachers work. I do not charge for summer break or spring break, but do charge for winter break. All misc days throughout the year are paid days off.

 Personal Days, Sick Days, Emergency/Bereavement:
Emergency or bereavement days will be used at my discretion and will honestly only be used when/if necessary and normally with a very short notice as they can’t be planned in advance the reasons they may be used include but aren’t limited too hospitalization (myself or my family), severe sickness (myself or my family), death of a loved one. I haven't had to use them all, but will take up to 5 days paid for emergency/bereavement.
In order to rejuvenate and continue to do the job I was called to do, I may also take up-to 10 paid days off per year for personal days or sickness (myself or my family) to use at my discretion. I will notify parents as soon as possible of any sick days I may take due to my own illness or of family members. If I or my family becomes sick during the work day, I will call immediately and someone must pick up your child within the hour. *If parents or children in my care are sick, you are responsible for payment regardless if your child is here or not.

Back Up Care:
Parent's are responsible for having back up care in case of provider vacation, sick days, personal days etc.
