About Our Day!!
Play & Exercise
Children will be encouraged to participate in physical activities that will develop their gross and fine motor skills. Children will have outdoor play where they will explore their surroundings, climb, jump, roll, skip...in other words, be a kid!! Indoor play will also include dancing, exercise, games and indoor play equipment.
Learning Activities
Children will be stimulated using their five senses. They will learn how to interpret their environment while developing their fine motor skills. Activities will be fun and encourage children based on their abilities.At Think Big we use Son Shine preschool curriculum, a Christian based curriculum.
Arts & Crafts and Music
Imagination is a window into a child's mind and heart. Arts & crafts is one of the ways in which children will be taught to express themselves. Some activities will be guided while others will be free flowing creativity. In addition to art, children will learn the joys of music.
Travel Tots
We have a special teacher that comes in twice a month to teach us about different countries around the world. They learn music & motion, science, song & stories & projects!
Curriculum
We follow a Christian based curriculum that teaches all the basics of learning such as number and letter recognition, handwriting, cutting, shape and color recognition and more. All the necessary skills to prepare the children for Kindergarten.
What our day might look like...
7am-8am: Children arrive at various times, so quiet free play and/or educational TV is offered until everyone arrives and my children wake up.
8am-8:30am: Breakfast
*Clean up, bathroom breaks, diapers checked and kids off to bus stop
9am-9:30am: Free Play in play area with reading loft, dress up,climbing structures, car/train tables and more!
*Infant & Toddlers may be laid down for nap if needed. Infants & Toddlers nap on demand.
9:30am-10:30am: Group Time, we enjoy a fun activity or project together
*Clean up, bathroom breaks, snack
10:30am-11:30am: Outdoor play/Large motor play
*Clean up, bathroom breaks, babies are awake, change diapers
11:45am: Lunch
12:15pm: Noon time group, story time, songs, finger plays, felt board stories
12:30pm-2:30pm: Nap time, quiet time, Disney movie is offered for those who don't nap.
*Clean up sleeping bags, bathroom break, diapers changed
2:30pm-3:15pm: Sensory play: Play dough, shaving cream, goup etc
3:15pm: Snack
3:30pm-4:30pm: Outdoor play, Large Motor Play
4:30pm-4:45pm: Parent pick up
*At anytime, we may choose to go outside. Our naps vary each day and we want to take advantage of nice weather.
